Travis Tritt Set to Release a Duet With His Daughter for Father’s Day

Travis Tritt is out to make this Father's Day one of the most memorable of his life. Along with his daughter, Tyler Reese, Tritt will be releasing a song.

Travis and his 15-year-old daughter have gone into the studio to re-recorded the 1992 hit 'Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough', made popular by Patty Smyth and Don Henley.

Tritt told GAC that the decision to take Tyler Reese into the studio to record began when he heard his teenage daughter singing along in the car:

“We were driving home from a wedding in Florida when the song came up on my iPod. She started singing along in the backseat. When we got home I told my wife that I thought Tyler Reese could really do a great job on this. I know I sound like a biased parent, but she’s got a lot of talent and charisma."

Based on her performance in the studio, dad not only decided to add the song to his upcoming CD, but to release it as his next single, which will be available on Father's Day, June 16th. Tritt went on to brag about his daughter, saying:

"The recording speaks for itself. She really nailed it.”

As the single is set to hit on the 16th, Tritt's upcoming album featuring the daddy-daughter duet, 'The Calm After...,' will be released on is own Post Oak Recordings on July 9. The new CD will sound familiar to fans, since it's an updated release of Travis' 2007 album 'The Storm'. Tritt recently took over ownership of the master tapes.

"I’ve been talking about starting my own record label for five years, and it all hinged on having those masters back in my control. I feel so humbled and blessed to be where I am right now. My voice has never been stronger, I’m constantly playing and working to become a better guitar player, banjo player, vocalist and songwriter. I am honestly as excited about the creative process and performing now as I was the day I signed my first record deal.”

With a 15-year old budding country star in the house, an independent record label could go a long way in kickstarting Tyler Reese's career.
