Two big burly voices will square off in this Round 1 matchup to decide the top vocalist in country music. Trace Adkins' new single "Jesus and Jones" is good enough to assure spot in this conversation, while "We Went" shows how dynamic Randy Houser is.

"Like a Cowboy," a Top 5 hit from Houser's How Country Feels album, proved once again that the Mississippi-born singer can keep up with anyone in country music vocally. He is perhaps the greatest singer that no one is talking about, but his fans will have their chance to shout his praises all month long. Is Houser country's top vocalist?

Adkins' fans may not think so. While known for country-rockers and ballads that go so low they touch the ground, Adkins has proven he can work the high end of his range just as efficiently and effectively. He's a well-rounded vocalist and a stylist. Few in country music are as dynamic as this hitmaker.

Vote for either one, once every hour until this Round 1 poll closes on March 13, 2016 at 11:59PM ET. The winner will move on to face either Brett Eldredge or Chris Stapleton in a Round 2 matchup. At the end of three weeks, the top male vocalist will square off against the fan-decided top female vocalist to decided country's top vocalist of 2016.
