Today, one of country music's most iconic voices and faces turns 82 years old. It was on this day (April 29) in 1933 that Willie Nelson, a true pioneer, trendsetter and a rock for country music lovers worldwide, was born.

I think it's safe to say most of us have an early memory or two about the Red Headed Stranger. And we certainly all have a favorite Willie song.

My first memory of music at all involved Willie. I was around 3 years old and we were on a family vacation traveling to Florida in our rickety camper. My dad started singing "On the Road Again," one of Willie's signature songs.

Well, I didn't realize he was singing a song, and I said, "But dad, we're already on the road."

Or that's how the story goes when the family gets together. Happy birthday, Willie!
