Can you help us save Thomas?

Thomas the Treeing Walker Coonhound is a breed of hound descended from a cross between the English and American Foxhounds. The first time the breed was recognized as a separate breed in the United States was in early 1945. Amazingly the Abilene Animal Shelter has one of these rare breed dogs, and he needs a ride to the Dallas Ft. Worth area Coonhound Rescue group.

I spoke with Shelter Director Aaron Vannoy, who asked if we could utilize the 'KEAN-Critter' blog to find Thomas a ride so that the Coonhound rescue group in the DFW area could help locate Thomas a new home amongst the fans of the breed. This rather tall, slender, mild mannered coonhound is only 3 years old and weighs 65 pounds this is no small dog. Thomas was an owner turn in and has already been vaccinated and micro-chipped.

If you have the ability to transfer this tall, lanky and extremely friendly Treeing Walker Coonhound, please contact Aaron Vannoy at the Abilene Animal Shelter as soon as possible so that Thomas gets to his new home right away.
