Thomas Rhett has been keeping busy lately. While wrapping up his tour with Jason Aldean, Rhett is preparing to embark on a headlining tour for the first time (which includes a trip to the Lucky Mule November 7th). At the same time, his latest single, 'It Goes Like This' is #2 on the country music charts and is poised to take over the top spot. With all of this, and his debut album ready to drop in two weeks, it's a wonder how Thomas found time to interview with us. But he did!

In the first part of my conversation with Thomas Rhett, he talked about his experience with Jason Aldean and Jake Owen on Jason's 'Night Train' tour. He tells us, "Just getting to learn from those guys [Aldean and Owen] has been great, but we're really ready to get out on our own and play for a longer amount of time, and play for some new fans. We're looking forward to getting out your way.". He also talked about how much he learned from being able to accompany his dad, Rhett Akins, on tour growing up, and how excited he is to be on the cusp of having his first #1 hit single with 'It Goes Like This'.

The second part of the interview, he mentioned that his first tour ever was opening for Brantley Gilbert two years ago in the Taste of Country Christmas Tour, which also came to Abilene. "Headlining what I used to open...there's definitely some nerves. There's the nerves of putting on a long show like that, you know. Out here on Aldean's [tour] we play for 20 minutes, so it's going to be a good time and a good challenge for us to really try to make our show the best that it possibly can be." Rhett also discussed the release of the CD, 'It Goes Like This', his long-awaited debut album. Check it out:

It was great to have Thomas join me, and we're looking forward to a great Taste of Country Christmas Concert November 7th at the Lucky Mule. Don't miss this show!
