The CW’s ‘Arrow’ Stocks Its Quiver With A Full Season Order

The CW Arrow Full Season Order
The CW

See, who needs superpowers? Just two episodes out of the gate, The CW’s Green Arrow adaptation ‘Arrow‘ has scored and maintained mega-hit ratings for the network and generated an impressive amount of buzz in its upcoming stable of DC universe characters. Now, The CW has granted ‘Arrow’ additional time in the DC sandbox by picking up the superhero drama for a full season order! But what of the fate of The CW’s other freshman shows?

Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen better stock up his quiver, because we’ve just learned there’s going to be a lot more ‘Arrow’ coming our way. Through The CW, we’ve just learned that the freshman vigilante drama has earned itself a full-season order, bringing the total to 22 episodes up from 13. The move isn’t hugely surprising for the network, considering ‘Arrow’ was one of its most-watched premieres in years at over 4 million viewers, while second episode “Honor Thy Father” only dipped 15% in viewership.

Good news for ‘Arrow’ might not be so green for ‘Emily Owens, M.D.’ or The CW’s ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ as neither have been announced as canceled or extended for the moment. “Our strategy of rolling out our new fall schedule later in the year really paid off for The CW on several levels, especially with ‘Arrow,’ which was the network’s most watched premiere in three years and is one of the breakout hits of the new season,” said CW president Mark Pedowitz. “I’m proud of the quality of ‘Arrow’ and I’m happy we’ll be able to share more of it with viewers.”

What say you? Do you think ‘Arrow’ deserved a full order, or will move on to a second season? Give us your thoughts in the comments!
