Nashville’s hottest stars hit the town dressed to the nines on Tuesday, Nov. 8, for the 2011 BMI Country Awards. Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Lauren Alaina, Keith Urban and more made their presence known at the event, which celebrates the songwriters and publishers who bring the year’s most heard songs to the forefront.

Miranda Lambert and her all-girl trio Pistol Annies, as well as her husband, Blake Shelton, took the stage to perform in honor of iconic penman Bobby Braddock, who has put chart-topping singles on the map for five consecutive decades, earning him 30 BMI Awards for his songwriting talent and essentially making him a behind-the-scenes legend.

Together, Peach Pickers Dallas Davidson and Rhett Akins grabbed the evening’s big Songwriter of the Year nod. The pair collaboratively wrote four of the five most performed songs this year, including Shelton’s ‘All About Tonight’ as well as Joe Nichols‘ ‘The Shape I’m In’ and ‘Gimmie That Girl.’

Additionally, 21-year-old Swift left the building with an award for her huge hit ‘Back to December.’ Once outside, the singer greeted, took pictures with and signed autographs for fans. Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Chris Young, Eli Young Band, Kix Brooks and many other top artists were also in attendance.

CMA Week continues tonight (Nov. 9) with the 2011 CMA Awards, which will take place live in Nashville and air on ABC stations everywhere starting at 8PM ET.
