Taste Of Country Christmas Concert, Jason Aldean Cover of Alabama’s “Tennessee River”, George Strait’s 2014 Tour Dates Announced – Top Stories of the Week

One of country music’s hottest newcomers will headline the third annual Taste of Country Christmas Concert. Thomas Rhett is ready to take the stage for the November 7th show that has become one of Abilene’s favorite concerts each year. It’s okay — the ‘It Goes Like This’ singer says he’s used to being on the road during the holidays.

The "Alabama and Friends" album that was recently released has some of country's most popular artists. One of the first artists on the album that caught my attention was Jason Aldean, with his version of the Alabama classic "Tennessee River". George Strait's 2014 Cowboy Rides Away Tour dates were revealed during a press conference on Monday (Sept. 9). This is Strait’s final tour, and the singer announced 26 shows, set to begin on Jan. 9, 2014 and end in June or later with a to-be-determined date in Dallas, Texas.

Vince Gill was worked up when he took to the streets to confront members of the Westboro Baptist Church on Sunday (Sept. 8). The group was set up outside his concert venue to protest what they called adultery by the singer.

Baby Payton Leann Templeton was born on August 27th and lived only a few short days, passing away on September 1st. While we have a hard time understanding how a family and community can only have a few short days with a precious little angel, we can gather to help that family as they struggle with the financial burden of laying their baby to rest.
