Thomas Rhett to Headline the 2013 Anatabloc Taste of Country Christmas Concert on November 7th
One of country music's hottest newcomers will headline the third annual Taste of Country Christmas Concert. Thomas Rhett is ready to take the stage for the November 7th show that has become one of Abilene's favorite concerts each year. It's okay -- the 'It Goes Like This' singer says he's used to being on the road during the holidays.
The son of '90s hitmaker Rhett Akins recalls that even though his dad usually had time off during Christmas, the family would still find themselves driving to see relatives in Knoxville, Tenn. and Georgia. Traditions carried on throughout the years, like opening just one gift on Christmas Eve.
"We always put a pickle on our tree," Rhett tells Taste of Country. "A pickle ornament. I'm not really sure why." They also still leave cookies for Santa, mostly to appease Rhett's 6-year-old brother.
On stage, fans can expect a pretty standard Thomas Rhett show. The red-hot songwriter and 'Beer With Jesus' hitmaker has spent time on tour with Jason Aldean, so he picked up a few tricks about entertaining a live audience. Although, he was pretty used to giving a high octane show before signing a record deal. Rhett started as a young rocker before embracing his country roots.
