The Texas Thunder Music Festival in Gardendale TX Will Donate All the Proceeds to West, Texas

Brandy Reed the organizer for the Texas Thunder Music Festival says "all of the Texas music artists coming to perform have agreed to donate 100% of the proceeds to the people of West, Texas." Who are these generous Texas musicians that are performing during the three day event? They are The Randy Rogers Band, Josh Abbott, Charlie Robison, Aaron Watson, Mickey and the Motorcars, Wade Bowen. Stoney LaRue and about 20 more Texas music artists.

The Texas Thunder Festival, featuring the Randy Rogers Band, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew Band, Josh Abbott Band and Stoney LaRue, makes its debut in 2013. It is also part of an effort to raise funds to benefit the schools, first responders and victims of the explosion that took place at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas 10 days ago on April 17.

Before the month of September passes us by, I think we should all participate in 'National Preparedness Month' as it's designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). We all know how fast and how bad the weather gets here in West Texas. If (heaven forbid), a tornado or flood should hit or a wild-fire takes your home, are you ready? This years West Texas Rehabilitation Center's telethon auction is said to the be one of the largest, because of the sheer number of items that were donated for the auction. According to Dan Huggins the director of donor relations for the Rehab Center, the total number of items donated thus far are 480 and the number continues to grow even as the telethon starts airing. The total for the items donated is estimated to be worth over $475,000 in retail value.
