It's been a joy following the Tejas Brothers for the past few years. All along, the band has been up to the challenge of carrying the tradition of Tejano/Texas country music. With such a distinct sound that so clearly honors their influences (Texas Tornados and their solo offshoots, along with classic country artists), Dave Perez and the guys are still able to be fresh, current and continue to evolve as a band. The Tejas Brothers' evolution has taken the next step with the release of 'Live A Little More'.

John Garza, bass player for the Tejas Brothers has been one of my favorite musicians in the Texas scene for a few years now. He's a terrific bass player in one of the coolest bands in the Lone Star State, but he's also a helluva nice guy who puts up with my ribbing extremely well. Whenever I'm lucky enough to have John stop by for a visit, it always turns out to be memorable. On his way through town, Garza paid me a quick visit to talk about all the big things going on with the Tejas Brothers, including a new single, new CD, new band mate and a lot more.

This 3-day event combines live music from some of LJT's closest friends, a homebrew and wine maker competition, cooking demonstrations and camping, all in one.
