Children's Performing Arts in Abilene Announces Shows to be Presented in 2012-2013 [VIDEO]

The Cultural Affairs Council (CAC), Children's Performing Arts Series (CPAS), just announced the line up for 2012-2013, it looks like fun for everyone. First in line is, Sleeping Beauty scheduled for Sunday, October 14th, 2012. John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean and Pinkalicious, The Musical both are scheduled in 2013. The best part is seasons passes just became available.

The Muscular Dystrophy Telethon on Labor Day weekend (now called the "M.D.A. Show of Strength"), has always been in my opinion, a 'must see event'. This year there's even more of a reason to watch the show. Country music Superstars Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Luke Bryan are scheduled to appear on the Show of Strength. Abilene Kennel Club to Host 48th Annual Dog Show [VIDEO]

There's a little known fact that the Abilene Kennel Club started in 1958, and since then the Abilene club has hosted 47 dog shows right here in Abilene. The 47th Annual Dog Show was January 2011, while those who attended last years show are wondering what happened to this years 48th annual show, it has been moved, it is scheduled for May.

Feathers in Your Hair at the Peddler Show

Okay I did it, I accompanied my wife and daughter to the Peddler show that was in Abilene Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Wow, you can find just about anything in the world at this show. I was doing as any good husband does is, following behind taking in the sights when all of a sudden my daughter the princess hits the brakes and hollers mom stop, look they've got them here, hair feathers. Please momma please, can I have at least just one hair feather put in? Hearing all this I knew I would be in for an eventful ride with these two. It was decided that the best color of feather to put in her hair was a school color purple. All the while I'm racking my brain trying to figure out why "a feather in her hair" in the first place, but then the thought hit me. What bird has feathers this color? Needless to say the feathers were bought, installed and explicit instructions on how to care for this new addendum were given. Which I might add, I once saw hippies of the 70's with similar feathers dangling from their ears, but that's for another blog.
