San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo Runs Through February 24th

The annual San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo is one of the longest running, most prestigious rodeos in the nation, bringing top cowboys and cowgirls from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) to compete each year. It also boasts kids exhibiting their prized livestock in the third largest show in the state of Texas, with over 10,000 entries. This year's San Angelo Stock Show in Rodeo is going on now through February 24th.

The 2012 West Texas Fair and Rodeo begins Thursday, September 6th, with the traditional Sneak-a-Peak night and will run through Saturday, September 15th. This year fair goers can purchase a 'Seasons Pass' that's good for the duration of the Fair and Rodeo. Some crowd favorites are back this year, like the Tractor Pull competition, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show and of course all the entertainers on the Outdoor stage.

Alright rodeo fans it's that time again, the high school rodeo finals are coming next week. This is an annual event for Abilene and brings in a lot of great folks to our community. This is the 27th year for Abilene to host the event and brings in over 600 contestants and their families.

US Soldier Takes Bucking Bull by the Horns [VIDEO]

A US soldier that's been serving in Iraq will take the Bucking Bull by the Horns. The event is scheduled to take place at the giant Ft. Worth Honky Tonk Billy Bob's Texas. The soldier I speak of is United States Army Captain Christopher Combest as he will fulfill his long-time dream by riding a live bucking bull at Billy Bob’s October 7 at 9pm.

It's time again for the 2011 West Texas Fair and Rodeo. From the very moment you set foot in the parking lot at the Taylor County Expo Center fair grounds the sights, sound and that familiar smell of funnel cakes, fajitas, turkey legs, Aggie fries and smoked brisket overwhelms your senses. While Sneak-a-Peek night was a lot slower than I can remember, it was perfect weather, not too cool, not too hot and obviously no rain, there wasn't even so much as a whisk of wind, in the air. The fresh squeezed lemonade was tangy yet tasty sweet and the fajitas were Delicious, now time to take to the rides. While the kiddo rides near the round building were not open on Thursdays Sneak-a-Peek night, we found a couple of race cars the Wheaton and Fernandez kids could have their picture made on.
