Kids these days, always plugged in to their smartphones and laptops and Instagrams, constantly suffering from the compulsion to record every aspect of their lives. For a superhero, this is probably a bad idea, given the whole secret identity thing and all — but our new Peter Parker is very much a millennial, and he’s going to vlog this whole thing if it kills him.

One of the most charming aspects of Captain America: Civil War was the relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker, the Avengers’ youngest, spunkiest recruit. It”ll be fun to see their friendship blossom in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and a new featurette delves a little deeper into their hilarious mentor-mentee dynamic.

The new (and extended) TV spot for Spider-Man: Homecoming leans pretty heavily on that element with some serious shout-outs to Spidey’s super-friends.

The MTV Movie & TV Awards have always been kind to our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. In 2003, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man took home awards for Kirsten Dunst and Best Kiss  —  seriously, who can forget that upside down kiss in the rain?  —  as well as nominations for Best Actor, Best Villain, and Best Movie. So with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming on its way into theaters this summer, what better place to premiere a brand new trailer? Odds are MTV’s voters will have Tom Holland on the stage next year for Best Hero in the upcoming film. Man, I wish all award shows had categories this fun.

There may never be a Hollywood talker like Robert Downey, Jr. Even in his fifties, the actor possesses a nervous energy and patter that makes him seem like the youngest man in the room, barraging his co-stars and audiences alike with a flurry of self-deprecating jokes and unbridled enthusiasm for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His success as Tony Stark is synonymous with the success of the Marvel movies as a whole; while it’s technically possible to picture an Avengers movie without Downey, Jr. in the mix, there’s no denying it would probably be a whole lot less fun.
