Barbequing on holidays is a must in my book, especially if the weather is great like it should be this weekend. We all have our favorites that we like to grill, whether it's appetizers, meats, vegetables or desserts. Yes, I said dessert, you can grill that too! I sure love it when our family comes together to celebrate whatever occasion may be at hand. Good food, lots of love, plenty of laughter and we can guarantee the celebration will move into the silly department in short order. Memorial Day was a great time to be had by all. I spent it with many of my relatives some of whom have served in our great Nations awesome Military and some that are still serving. While in due respect and at their request I won't post their pictures, I will share a couple of silliness pictures (of other family members) that had us all chuckling.
As we all gather with friends and family to celebrate Memorial Day we sometimes forget the real meaning behind the holiday.
With all that is going on all weekend long I had a real dilemma. What to do this weekend? I've been invited to participate in several activities like, barbecue at the lake with friends, doing the "Movie Hopping" with a couple of my kids, camping at the state park with some of my scouting friends or back yard barbecuing with the in-laws. All of the a fore mentioned are great to be doing but most require "time and planning" the two things I can not do, mainly because I'm working on location broadcasting live at the car lots. See, this is the time of year when the car dealers shell out their best deals to clear-out inventory for the up-coming next years models. Here is what I decided to do on such a short leash. Inspecting the bottom of a local pool.
Jacob Reicheneker is the beneficiary of this awesome Memorial Day Music Festival. Jacob made news in West Texas when he was injured in a four-wheeler accident and was paralyzed and needs a special wheel-chair lift van to be able to start putting his life back to some form of normalcy. I want to help by bringing attention to this event. First off bring your coolers, It's in Buffalo Gap at the Trails End Ranch and they've got a lot of Texas Music Bands playing like Callahan Divide, get to know Callahan Divide better by watching this introductory video.
In honor of Memorial Day, and all the barbecuing that will take place during the three-day weekend, we've compiled a gallery of handmade aprons from craft site Etsy that are sure to let everyone know who's boss of the grill.
