Lonestar began in 1992 as Texassee. They chose that name because all the members were from Texas, yet they met while working at the Opryland theme park in Nashville, Tennessee. The group changed their name to Lonestar when they signed their record deal. They're one of the most successful bands, with ten songs that went to No.1 and debuting their biggest song "Amazed" at No.1. In 1992 a band called Lonestar hit the country music scene and sold over 10 million albums, scored 18 Top 10 hits and had 9 #1 hits. They are probably best known for a hit that crossed over to the pop side of things as well, "Amazed". Richie McDonald, Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater, and Dean Sams (and John Rich for a time) made up the band until about 4 years ago when lead singer McDonald took a hiatus. The great news today is that McDonald is back and the band will be releasing a new album this summer.

Lonestar Reunites to Celebrate 20 Years and Releases New Song ‘Maybe Someday’ [VIDEO]

Has it been 20 years since we first heard those tight vocals from a then, new group that boasted they were from Texas? Lonestar, which is made up of Richie McDonald on lead vocals and piano, Michael Britt on lead guitar and background vocals, Keech Rainwater on drums and back-up vocals and Dean Sams handling keyboards, acoustic guitar and background vocals as well. As a  20 year anniversary celebration, Lonestar is marking it by touring, recording a new album and reuniting with lead vocalist Richie McDonald (who has been out trying to make it solo). The reunited band Lonestar, has just released their newest song called 'Maybe Someday.' Give it a listen and tell me what you think.

Tate Stevens Gives Thanks With Lonestar’s ‘I’m Already There’ on ‘X Factor’

On Wednesday's (Nov. 21) episode of 'X Factor,' each performer was asked to give thanks with their performance and to perform a song for someone they are thankful. Country crooner Tate Stevens -- who is a fan favorite and lands atop the leaderboard with regularity -- gave thanks to his father, since his pop is the one who made him who he is. He turned in an emotional and twangy rendition of Lonestar's ballad 'I'm Already There.'
