August 21, 2012 Lady Antebellum had a huge hit with their last album "Own The Night"; it went platinum selling over 1 million albums. It had two #1 singles and helped them become the CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year. They are now back in the studio working on their fourth album.
For 15 years, Tricia Van Auken has been carrying the same sign to every concert she attends. It reads: “Can I Come Sing w/ You?” — and believe it or not, it has actually worked! Ten months ago, Jake Owen invited Van Auken on stage during a performance at the New York State Fair. Then on Sunday night (June 3), Van Auken’s lucky sign worked again, when Lady Antebellum called her up to sing with them during a show in Canandaigua, N.Y.
“This event started as an idea we had in the studio last year to crash someone’s prom,” says Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott (quote via the Green Room PR). “We had no idea at the time it would fill such a need. We are amazed by the support we’ve gotten from our fans, sponsors and the press. This is one of the proudest moments of our career!”
The power behind the punch of Lady Antebellum‘s sophomore album has withered away to little more than a slap to the cheek with the group’s fourth single ‘Wanted You More.’ The best songs from ‘Own the Night’ have already been issued as singles, and while hope remains for a late surge (‘Cold as Stone’ or ‘Friday Night’ perhaps), this new offering is more style than substance.

Who doesn’t love a great cover? We thought we’d seen it all when Willie Nelson covered Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist,’ but then indie pop group fun. released their own acoustic version of Lady Antebellum‘s ‘We Owned the Night’ on SiriusXM (see below), and we admit we’re a little smitten.
