The West Texas Rehabilitation Center (WTRC) announced that country music legend Ronnie Dunn (formerly of Brooks and Dunn), will be the featured entertainer at the 34th annual REHAB Summer Dinner Show. The West Texas Rehabilitation Center is a private, non-profit physical rehabilitation facility. The center cares for more than 28,000 children and adults every year on an outpatient basis. The REHAB

The results are in, 'The Chronicle of Higher Education' just released their fifth annual report on 'The Academic Workplace,' based on a survey of more than 46,000 employees at 294 colleges and universities in America. 103 of the 294 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” status. McMurry University was awarded honors in two separate categories.

The first annual Cross Plains Classic 5k is set for September 15th. This event is a run or walk  and there will also be a 1-mile walk option. All proceeds benefit the local Cross Plains Community Cancer Fund. If you per-register before September 1st, you'll receive a T-shirt commemorating the event. There's also a “Sleep-in” option. One of my favorite television shows, 'The Voice' will be spoofed. This may be the new form of celebrity flattery, taking the place of "Weird" Al Yankovic covering your song.

I don’t necessarily go out of my way to watch a particular sport, or a specific athlete, but I watch when I have free time. In watching the 2012 Summer Games in London from the comfort of my home, I have learned a few things. So here are some observations that jumped out at me, some literally.
