With his self titled 2011 debut album, John David Kent established in himself as a force in the Texas scene. Today his sophomore album "Before the Sun Comes Up" hits stores and iTunes. Kent stopped last summer to preview a few tracks off the new album with us, seems like a good time to revisit that.

John David Kent is keeping busy these days. Between playing in France, booking shows in Texas, his radio tour and the upcoming release of his new CD, Kent doesn't seem to have any problems finding something to do. All the more reason we were happy that JD could take time out of his busy schedule to stop by and let us in on the latest.

I first met John David Kent in 2011. My first impression of him was that his long-haired, bearded, rough appearance could easily have him mistaken for an extra in the movie "Young Guns". When we met, Kent was promoting his radio single, "My Girl", that would be appearing on his self-titled CD several months later.
