The show of all shows for dog breeders is the Westminster Dog Show. However, you can start a little closer to home this coming weekend, May 18-20th with the Abilene Kennel Club's annual dog show.
Rescue The Animals, the S.P.C.A. and Abilene residence were successful in getting the Abilene City Council to table the dangerous dog ordinance they were considering. Rescue the Animals, KEAN 105 and the City of Abilene have teamed up together to offer West Texans half price dogs and cats from the Abilene Animal Control Shelter. Spring is near and the fact is, there will be an increase of puppies and kittens at the shelter, so we are trying to head off an over-crowding problem before it ever occurs.
For some mysterious reason, February 23rd is known as International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day. It seems likely that dogs managed to get a hold of a calendar somewhere and decided to mark this day, so to speak, in order to get more treats. Clever pups.

With deer season upon us it's good to know that some deer are not afraid to take on any new comers in their territory, check out this dog just meandering through the forest, minding his own business when his canine day turns for the worst when a cute harmless little deer enters the picture.
The doe clearly has a bad taste in her mouth for anything canine. I the cycle of wildlife, coyote often prey on the young fawns that are somewhat helpless when left unattended. But if there's a mama doe around you can bet a weeks wages that the predator will get a real good fight from the does. Now after viewing this several times it's apparent that this doe has had it's fill with the coyotes and is exacting it's revenge of the small boxer she mistook for a coyote and/or wolf.
It’s hard to imagine one dog jumping rope, but 13? At the same time? That requires real talent and training. That’s why Uchida Geinousha, who trains dogs for the Super Wan Wan Circus has been awarded the Guinness World Record for dog handler to train the most dogs skipping rope at the same time.
When it comes to kids I have a pretty good grasp on who done what, and when. My wonderful wife Donna and I have raised eight kids under one roof, so when something got broke or something came up missing, we had to become private investigators and start the questioning process. T
It's one thing to teach your children to say grace before their meals, but your dog? This has got to be one of the coolest videos of a dog joining in on saying grace that I have ever seen. I can't even get my dog to sit or stay, let alone to come and say grace. To sum it all up in two words, "too cute".
