The City of Clyde will Recreate the Late 1800′s in West Texas, March 1st and 2nd

The City of Clyde has set the date for the festive yet very historic late 1800's recreation. The event will take place March 1st and 2nd, at Clyde Lake. The event has been given the name 'Frozen Foot Rendezvous' a recreation of life in the late 1800's right here in West Texas. There will be gun fights (reenactments of course), souvenir and chuck wagon food plus exhibitions of real life in the late 1800's. So lace up your boots put on your best cowboy hat and come join in on the fun at Clyde Lake.

The Marketing Committee of the Abilene COC and TXU Energy are co-sponsoring a one day “Social Media 101 for Businesses” training session, this Tuesday February 6th at the ACU Hunter Welcome Center and early registration is a must.

Business Mercado was this past Saturday at the Abilene civic center. What I expected was a very subdued and quite affair. Was I surprised when I walked into the civic center and was greeted with the wonderful sounds of a Mariachi band. Mariachi Alma Mexicana set the mood and made me feel like I was in a real Mercado (Market) in Mexico. The air was filled with sound and the smell of fresh tamales, compliments of our local United Super Markets. This Free to the public event was attended by people of all walks of life and all ages. One thing we all had in common, was that, when the Mariachi Alma Mexicana played we all stopped to listen, sing along, danced or swayed to the beat of the music. Oh and yes there were over one hundred businesses represented and y es they were talking business and how they could better serve us.

The Business Expo Was A Huge Success

Over 200 local business's set up booths at the business expo hosted by the Abilene Chamber Of Commerce. Well over 5,000 were in attendance picking up everything from pens, pencils, note pads, re-usable shopping bags, popcorn, cotton candy, coffee mugs & t-shirts being handed out by those local business's participating in hopes the make more business connections.
