Rhett Akins Shows Up At Brantley Gilbert Concert [VIDEO]

I was just about to go up on stage at Guitars and Cadillac's and introduce the first act Friday night at the Brantley Gilbert concert, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw another country music singer, songwriter and producer, Rhett Akins. I'd heard that he might be traveling with this group of guys, and for good reason. Thomas Rhett-Akins is the son of Rhett Akins. So right after I got done bringing on Thomas Rhett I got a chance to talk to his well known father and the singer of "That Ain't My Truck"

Brantley Gilbert’s Road to Success [VIDEO]

What at first appears to be an overnight success story is exactly the opposite. Brantley Gilbert who hails from Jefferson Georgia started out trying to make it in the business before 2006, that's when Gilbert's first album on Average Joe's records, "Modern Day Prodigal Son", was originally set to be released, but Gilbert was dropped by the record label a week before the albums were to be delivered to stores. Gilbert went on to release two albums, all the while trying to get his foot in the door as a serious performer.  In February 2011, Brantley left the old record label to join with Big Machine Records' Valory Music Group, where he has charted a top 20 song and still climbing with "Country Must Be Country Wide."

Brantley Gilbert, a high school graduate, with dreams and ambitions of being a country star and was attending Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville GA., where he was studying to become a relationship counselor. The main reason he dropped out of college and didn't finish getting his degree as a "relationship/marriage counselor" was because he busy touring and practicing his relationship counseling  theories on unsuspecting couples at dance halls and concert venues all across the south. Brantley Gilbert Talks About Lost Love, Shares the Story Behind the Song ‘Saving Amy’

Brantley Gilbert is heading to Abilene on December 16th to headline the 2011 Taste of Country Christmas Tour, but don't assume that the Georgia-born singer will carry on the holiday tradition a la Vince Gill and Amy Grant or John Berry. Gilbert is on the brink of stardom because his shows are as lively and rambunctious as anyone who headlines major arenas and amphitheaters right now. He's focused, emotional and honest. As a result, his fans are as loyal as a biscuit is to gravy.
