When I was a kid and adults asked me what I wanted to do when I was older, I gave people my forty year plan. I was going to play point guard in the NBA and after my all-star career ended I would become a globe-trotting archeologist. Then, reality set in.

Tis’ the season for sucking on candy canes until they could be classified as a prison shank. It's also the season for getting way too drunk on Christmas cheer at the company holiday Christmas party.

As far as we're concerned, beer is a staple like water or bread. But the recession has hit everyone hard and even beer drinkers are now cutting back on their favorite beverage. Say it ain't so!

Executives at Molson Coors, the oldest and largest beer company in Canada, are not very happy with this whole NHL lockout thing. The brewing giant says the lockout is to blame for a sobering decline in beer sales.

The Budweiser brewing company is learning a valuable lesson about free publicity. 'Flight,' which hit theaters this past weekend to an impressive $25 million at the box office, is facing some drama with the Anheuser-Busch beer company in light of the fact that the product placement of Budweiser can arguably be linked to drunk driving. Talk about a big whoops!

We enjoy a cold brew as much as the next guy. But Armageddon beer, which is made by Brewmeister Brewery in Scotland and has a massive alcohol content of 65% by volume, might be too much even for us.

This past Sunday, I got up way early to do some stuff, then get ready to crack open a few beers to watch the Dallas Cowboys game.  The only problem was, I was out of beer, and by the time I got done with my stuff and went to the store, it was not noon yet.  Yep, the 'blue law' got me again.

It's time for the 5th Annual Big Country Homebrewers Association Big Brew Day, this Saturday May 5th from 11am till 5pm. This year the local home-brewers are holding a fundraiser in conjunction with the Big Brew Day.
