The Walking Dead has plenty of ground to cover when Season 7 picks up again in February, so is there time to introduce another community? Looks like we’re going to find out, as new photo introduces an apparent junkyard gang, and perhaps an answer to the boot-wearing mystery figure from the midseason finale.

It wasn’t any secret that Giancarlo Esposito’s Breaking Bad-die would resurface in Better Call Saul Season 3, but one tidbit has at last been unveiled: the April premiere date! We all got to bask in Rick’s reunion with Daryl and Maggie at the close of Walking Dead mid-Season 7 finale “Hearts Still Beating,” but there’s still the difficult task of actually inspiring hope to “Rise Up” against Negan. Rick isn’t off to a great start in our first photo from the 2017 premiere, as long as you-know-who remains in charge of the Hilltop.

It’s been an exceptionally punishing year for fans of The Walking Dead, who first endured the cop-out of Negan’s entrance, a summer spent waiting, and about eight episodes since of misery under The Saviors’ reign. Rick will finally fight back when Season 7 returns in February, and Andrew Lincoln insists “There’s a lot more levity, if you can believe that.”

The Walking Dead Season 7 may have taken a full eight episodes to get Rick raring to fight back against Negan, but the latter half isn’t wasting any time forging alliances. Our first clip from the 2017 premiere sees Jesus proposing an unorthodox, but kingly solution to the new rebellion’s shortage of soldiers.

It only took half a season, but The Walking Dead is finally ready to “Rise Up” against Negan and the Saviors when the AMC horror flagship returns in 2017. Following last night’s trailer, The Walking Dead is seeing red in the first Season 7B key art, while Robert Kirkman teases the mystery man (or woman) spying on Alexandria in the post-credits.

The Walking Dead pulled few punches with 2016 closer “Hearts Still Beating,” but we’ll have to wait until 2017 to see Rick and co. finally standing up to Negan. It’s open season on The Walking Dead Season 7 as we brace for the 2016 finale, given that Negan is hanging around Alexandria with all manner of disgruntled survivors. At least two are ready to confront the bat-wielding baddie in a new clip from midseason finale “Hearts Still Beating,” including one that very well deserves her revenge.
