Abilene Has Several Locations Where You Can Register to Vote

I checked with Elections Administrator's in Nolan, Brown and Taylor Counties, there appears to be two things all three administrators agree upon, one is 'the best way to get registered to vote'. Kristi Allyn, the Taylor County Elections Administrator said the guaranteed best way to get registered, is to go directly to the 'Elections Office' and register there. Taylor county was the only one that has several locations through-out the city where you can obtain a voter registration form.

The Kiwanis Club of Abilene is hosting their 63rd Annual Pancake Day and Auction this Saturday April 28th, 2012. We got a visit from the Spirit Airlines marketing department in Abilene on Thursday April 26th, their reason for being here was to say thanks to all Texans and to give-away 20,000 frequent flyer bonus mile vouchers. Each voucher is good for one free round trip airline ticket (not including airline fees and taxes) to approximately 20 cities where Spirit Airlines flies.

Big 5 Sporting Goods Store is Closing in Abilene and San Angelo

I couldn't believe it either, my favorite sporting goods store in Abilene is closing it's doors for good on May 14th, 2012. Store manager Ralph Zamarippa says "we've known for some time that Abilene was one of the stores that's been on the list of stores closing in the Big 5 chain, but we couldn't say anything". The San Angelo store will be closing as well according to a visiting manager from the Lubbock store Roy Rocha.

It's getting time to pull the boat out, dust it off and head to the lake for some fishing. Honey and I were just talking about the beautiful weather we've had and it being time to get out and do some crappie fishing. Last year we went to Ft. Phantom and caught some very small fish. However, it was late in the summer and we didn't get to go out but 2 or 3 times. We want to start earlier this year and enjoy not only fishing but just boating in general.
