The title song of Steven Tyler's first solo album, We're All Somebody From Somewhere, probably isn't quite what fans are expecting from the rock legend.

Tyler has already released two singles from the album, which is set for release via Dot Records in July. The lead single, "Love Is Your Name," is an acoustic, Americana-flavored track that was a little bit of a curve ball, commercially, while "Red, White & You" is definitely intended more for mainstream country radio.

The same is true of "We're All Somebody From Somewhere," which Tyler co-wrote and co-produced with Jaren Johnston from the Cadillac Three. Musically the track is both commercial, yet still individualistic, with funky acoustic guitar chords layered over electronic handclaps and a bluesy feel to create a fun backdrop for Tyler's signature voice.

Lyrically, "We're All Somebody From Somewhere" celebrates the diversity of the world, making comparisons between “Seattle coffee” and “Memphis blues" and “that fine red wine off the vine” with “cheap brown whiskey,” bringing the point home that "We're all somebody from somewhere."

The chorus states: “Yeah, we’re all somebody from somewhere / Some mama, some daddy, some love in the air / Some big, some little, some left, some middle / Some white, yellow, black or red / Yeah, we’re all somebody from somewhere.”

Tyler gives a somewhat restrained performance on the track, without the yelps and screams that sometimes punctuate his songs with Aerosmith, but he brings the energy up several notches for a pre-chorus cry of, "Give me some LOVE!"

Tyler also delivers parts of the lyric in the rapid-fire staccato that is one of his trademarks, and includes some of the wordless scat-singing that has always been one of his strengths during the song's breakdown in the middle section.

There's really no mistaking the voice that powered classics including "Dream On" and "Cryin'" for anyone else. The result is, maybe not exactly country, but it's certainly country with a refreshing twist of Steven Tyler, and something that his fans and fans of contemporary country should enjoy.

Steven Tyler's "We're All Somebody From Somewhere" Lyrics:

"Sweet Biloxi to New York City / From that fine red wine off a vine to cheap brown whiskey / Seattle coffee, Memphis blues / Chi-Town wind, Miami cruise / There's a thousand stories 'tween me and you / Give me some love."

Chorus:

“Yeah, we’re all somebody from somewhere / Some mama, some daddy, some love in the air / Some big, some little, some left, some middle / Some white, yellow, black or red / Yeah, we’re all somebody from somewhere."

"Hollywood to New Orleans / Filet mignon to blackeyed peas (and cornbread ... damn, I love that stuff)."

Repeat Chorus
