St. Jude Celebrates 50 Years of Fighting and Curing Cancer [VIDEO]

Founder Danny Thomas saw his life long dream of starting a hospital for children, become a reality fifty years ago. Who would have ever thought, when the first cancer patient walked through the doors of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, that an entertainer and his Doctor friends would find a way to cure certain types of cancer. The year was 1962 and the disease was acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cure percentage-rate was less than 4%. Fast forward 50 years, it's the same disease only the cure rate is right at 96%. It's time we all pitched into cure all other types of cancers.
 
Here's a story of one of the very first survivors that was cured at St Jude back in 1962 along with information on how you can help out, because as Mr. Thomas once said "no child should ever die in the dawn of life". This Thursday and Friday radio stations KEAN and Rock 108 will participate in the annual 'St. Jude Radiothon' to raise money for the patients and the research.
