When Jeremy Gillard has good news to share, he makes his announcement memorable. It may take a while to sink in, but if you were witness, you won't soon forget that Gillard announced his band, Holloway, had signed a management deal with AMC Nashville. Not because of how he announced it, but because of the day. April Fool's Day.
I was watching 'O Brother, Where Art Thou' on cable, when I came to realize that there are a lot of country music-based movies that I've enjoyed over the years. That thought inspired me to share my favorite movies about country music
Cody Bryan is a very talented up-and-comer who is out spreading the word about his latest single, 'Wreck Me', which is also the title track to Bryan's CD. He also brought his guitarist, Zach Lynch, to play a brand new one for us on the KEAN 105 Afternoon Show.
When I was born, society hadn't even dreamed about how important computers would be in our everyday lives. But in less than twenty years, they have become something that most of us can't live without. At the same time, there are several things that have disappeared from existence in that same time frame. For instance, VHS tapes. How about toys in cereal boxes? And when is the last time you made a collect call? These are just a few examples. This makes me think and wonder what part of our everyday lives will no longer be around in 20 years. I've compiled a list of my Top 5. Let me know if you disagree, or if I missed any.
Wade Bowen brings out a big crowd everywhere he goes, and Abilene is no exception. He sold out the Lucky Mule last November, and aims to do the same this Friday (4/25). Wade talked about his return to Abilene, his charity golf outing, his new CD, and even offers up his thoughts on the state of country music in an exclusive interview on the KEAN 105 Afternoon Show.
It's hard to think of an accomplishment Wade Bowen has not achieved on the Texas music scene. He's won the awards, sells out his shows, plays all the big festivals, and has recorded a "Live at Billy Bob's Texas" CD. It's been a road of steady progress since the beginning. Like with any musician, this requires some luck, but credit Bowen's work ethic, talent, and the fact that he is a really good guy for most of his career success.
Now, with the release of "The Given", Bowen has made the next logical step in growing his music and signed with Nashville label BNA.
As Wade Bowen makes his national push, he has not forgotten his Texas roots, and still looks for opportunities to play in the Lone Star State. KEAN 105 proudly presents Wade's return as he takes the stage at the Lucky Mule Saloon on Friday night, April 25th.
Greg Bates hit it big with his song "Did It For the Girl" when he was only 24 years old. But for a guy who was born and raised around Nashville, he probably feels like that kind of success was always meant to be. Out on tour, Greg paid a visit to the KEAN 105 Afternoon Show to pay us a visit, and sing a song for us in studio.
Michigan State star basketball player Adreian Payne was in Los Angeles to accept the first ever Outreach Award, despite the passing of the young lady who called him "Superman", and he referred to as his "little sister" just days earlier.
As Americans, April 15th has been embedded in our minds as the dreaded "Tax Day", where everybody who owes the I.R.S. had better pay up, or else! I want to change the way we view this day, so instead of going through the motions of being forced to pay my hard-earned money to Uncle Sam, I am going to celebrate "Procrastinator's Day"!
For several years now, I've found reasons to use a motto loosely borrowed from comedian Bill Hicks. The basic intention of this brief saying helps me find a fresh perspective on life's situations that may seem negative at first glance. The motto? "It's all in how you look at it.". Tax season reminds me of this saying.

Clay McClinton injuries in March were pretty serious, but that's all we've known for a while. After several weeks of respecting the wishes for privacy for McClinton and his family, Clay's wife, Brandy gave fans a very detailed update on his Facebook page. A
