Dancing with the Stars has entered it's 19th season and it comes with new pros, a fourth judge and an eclectic new cast. After watching the first night of competition, this will be a very interesting season. There are always some glitches when you are doing anything live and this show had it's fair share. There were camera faux pas, forgotten routines, prop problems and opening night jitters.

Overall, though, it went pretty well. There were the usual contestants that are there for name sake only and won't be there long. NASCAR's Michael Waltrip, although he may get some fan votes, Tommy Chong, and designer Betsey Johnson. There were a couple middle of the packers like track star Lolo Jones, Tavis Smiley and Antonio Sabato Jr.; with a little practice and getting over those first night jitters and I think they have a fighting chance.

Now, there was also some major surprises. Sadie Robertson from Duck Dynasty was incredible. She's never danced and just nailed it. Johnathan Bennett (actor from Mean Girls), MMA fighter Randy Couture, YouTube star Bethany Mota and Pretty Little Liars actress Janel Parrish all showed great potential.

However, there are a couple of dancers that I think have a distinct advantage. Actress Lea Thompson, who used to be a ballerina and Alfonso Ribeiro who used to be on Broadway in the Tap Dance Kid. They have a major advantage over some of these other contestants having past dance experience. Sometimes, though, it's not about the dancing at all it's about fan voting power. We've seen it more than once; the best dancer is kicked off early while the lesser dancer makes it to the finals. That's why you have to vote each week and not rely on just the judges scores.

I'm excited to see how this season will shake out!
