Shania Twain Wins 2013 SMItty Award, Calls It an Unexpected Achievement
If Shania Twain ever decides she'd like to head offstage and into an office job, she should consider marketing, as she's shown lots of promise in that area.
The singer recently won the prestigious 2013 SMItty Award for Most Innovative Use of Scent Marketing.
Nominees for this particular award are those who have significantly contributed and impacted the world of scent and sensory marketing, implementing an outstanding use of scents in new and unexpected ways. Twain has done just that in her dazzling Las Vegas Show, 'Shania: Still the One' at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Throughout the show, the singer infuses the air throughout the show with various specialized scents, including her own fragrance, Still the One Day and Still the One Night. The smells are gently wafted throughout the audience, slowly transition into a saloon scent (leathery and vintage) and then into the smell of a campfire, in order to set the mood based on what's happening in the show.
Even if you don't have the best seat in the house, Twain is sure to "getcha good," as scent machines are strategically placed throughout the Colosseum for audience members to experience the show everywhere.
The star has called her Las Vegas stint a dream performance scenario, and is especially excited about winning this SMItty Award. “I’m honored to have received the SMItty Award for the most innovative use of scents in my show, including my new perfume, Still the One Day and Night,” Twain says. “Creating my new show, 'Shania: Still the One' was artistically fulfilling and receiving this award is yet another level of reward I hadn’t even imagined. I’m proud of this unexpected achievement.”
Although the first run of Twain's 2013 show dates have wrapped, the 'From This Moment On' hitmaker will return to the Colosseum stage in October.
