Guess that 'West Wing' reunion wasn't quite as long as we'd thought.  Showtime has amassed a considerable amount of clout in the past several years, but perhaps never more so than the recent Emmy awards, in which 'Homeland' took away just about every major category, including the network's first win for 'Outstanding Drama.'  Is it any surprise, then, that even a low-class drama like 'Shameless' could attract a former 'West Wing'er for a season 3 role?  But whom will Bradley Whitford play?

If 'Shameless' is going to go political for its third season, it's certainly found the right man for the job.  According to Entertainment Weekly, former 'The West Wing' star and 'The Cabin in the Woods' baddie Bradley Whitford will make a 'Shameless' stop for season 3, appearing in at least two episodes.  Best known for his role as  former 'West Wing' Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman, Whitford will play Abraham, a “powerful, well-dressed, sophisticated gay man who is a political activist.”

The third season of the Showtime drama will pick up in January along with 'House of Lies' and the final season of 'Californication,' following the Gallagher household some months after the season 2 finally, where Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is further along towrd getting her G.E.D. and in her relationship with Jimmy (Justin Chatwin), while Frank (William H. Macy) finds himself in Mexico.

Will you be tuning in for the third season of 'Shameless?'
