It turns out there is something else Sam Hunt can look sexy doing. Dressed in white, the "Make You Miss Me" singer let his fingers work their magic during an ACM Awards performance of his latest single from Montevallo.

The singer-songwriter's style, which combines elements of pop, R&B, country and even rap, was considered radical when he debuted just a couple of years ago, but he's fast become one of the most-respected among the younger generation of writers and performers for his unique lyrical and musical slant. He's showing he can do more than sing and write as well, but don't expect him to tickle the keys on too many tracks moving forward.

"I’m not really a piano player, but I play enough to get away with it," Hunt told Taste of Country earlier, during ACM weekend at the MGM Grand. Awards shows, he admits, make him nervous.

“I try not to think about the fact that it’s on TV,” he says. “When you think about how many people are actually watching, that can kind of mess with your head a little bit.”

Hunt's performance came with a full arrangement, so he wasn't left to carry the song on his own. Black light swirls danced on top of his instrument and outfit as he closed his eyes to belt out the chorus to his latest single. He continues to push the genre forward.

In the process he's scored back-to-back hits from his debut album, Montevallo, including "Leave the Night On," "Take Your Time," "House Party" and "Break Up in a Small Town." "Make You Miss Me" is the fifth single from Montevallo.

Hunt also appeared on Carrie Underwood's recent hit, "Heartbeat." He was nominated for Album and Single Record of the Year in the 2016 ACM Awards, but didn't win either won. He tells ToC that he's started working on his next album, promising only that it will be diverse.
