Review of Last Nights ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Episode [VIDEO]

If you didn’t catch last nights Dancing with the Stars then you missed a phenomenal show.  This season’s dancers are, well, the best of the best.  They are the “All-Star” so it’s going to be difficult to narrow it down to one winner and hard to eliminate couples because they are all terrific.  However, tonight, two couple will have to go.

Last night the celebrities were the creative directors of the dances and they chose a dance from the past to recreate.  There were some great new ideas for old dances and the stars loved having some input into what they would be performing, they seemed much more confident performing something they had helped create.

As I watched last nights show though, there are two couples that I will put into the “jeopardy” category for tonight’s show and that is Kirstie and Max and Bristol and Mark.  Kirstie has made a lot of improvement since her first appearance on the show but I don’t think she has quite what it takes to be in the “All-Stars”. As for Bristol, I just don’t think her heart is in it, she doesn’t have any confidence in herself and it affects her dancing.  You can see the tension between herself and Mark.

It’s hard to choose between, Kelly and Val and Melissa and Tony.  I think this season it will come down to a face off between these two couples.  They are incredible dancers and they have chemistry with their partners that shows up on the dance floor.

However, you have to factor in the “fan favorites” like Emmitt Smith and Sabrina Bryan.  They have a crowd pleasing personality, and that’s not to say they aren’t great dancers because they are really good but I’m not sure it’s enough to win if you are just looking at the dancing.  Kelly and Melissa have that part in the bag, but they don’t have the fan base to get the votes as do Emmitt and Sabrina.

One dance I did not agree with the judges on last night was Shawn Johnson.  It was good but I don’t agree that it was the “Best.Dance.Ever.” as Carrie Ann Inaba stated.  I’ve seen some incredible dances on the show before, like Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough on their season 5 quick step and for me this one did not rank with them. I think because it was more of a “let’s show off your gymnastics skills instead of dance” routine.  Like I said it was good just not “best ever” for me.

So those are my highlights from last nights show. Check out Kelly and Val’s Paso Doble from last night. Who are your favorites?

Here is that Helio/Julianne quickstep I was referring to; Helio just has so much energy and personality.  This dance just remains one of my favorites ever!
