A founding member of the Red Dirt music scene is making his way to Abilene. The Mike McClure Band is taking the stage for a free concert on Thursday night, December 13th at the Lucky Mule Saloon. Mike McClure

To some red dirt music fans, Mike McClure is a name associated with the band The Great Divide. Others know him better for his solo work. Still others know him as a studio producer for some of their favorite artists, like Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Stoney LaRue, Whiskey Myers, Turnpike Troubadours and several others. Any way you look at it, McClure is a music pioneer with talent to spare. He has endured over 20 years of making albums, performing live and traveling the world to spread the red dirt message. And he shows no sign of slowing the pace, since Mike has released six CD's with his band since 2006 .
