Randy Houser has shared his first new single in two years. Readers can press play above to hear "What Whiskey Does."

Written by Houser along with Keith Gattis and Hillary Lindsey, "What Whiskey Does" tells a story of trying to let go of the world through a nice glass of something strong. Lindsey, on background vocals, accompanies Houser's deep voice as he sings "When that ice-cold beer loses its buzz / I'm gonna let that whiskey do what whiskey does."

Houser tells Rolling Stone that "What Whiskey Does" is a representation of the type of music he has been busy recording since the release of his newest album, Fired Up, in 2016: "Two years ago. I started working on a new album. I'm very proud of this body of work," he says.

"We had the band in the studio on standby while we finished the lyrics, so it was written and recorded in one day. Sometimes it happens like that, lightning strikes and you just sort of go with it," Houser adds specifically of "What Whiskey Does." "To have Hillary's voice on the song just puts the icing on the cake. I'm so thrilled to finally share the first piece of what we've been working on, and I can't wait to let everyone hear the rest of this album."

Fans can stay up to date on Houser's new music and his upcoming tour stops on his official website.
