Places to Easter Egg Hunt in Abilene

If you’re looking for places to Easter Egg Hunt this Easter in Abilene, I have good news and bad news.
First the bad news, the city-wide Easter Egg Hunt at Oscar Rose Park will not happen this year because according to one of the events organizers, New Hope Church Pastor Michael Chandler, said “I don’t believe we were being very evangelical by simply hosting the egg hunt. We saw many people and we were never able to minister to them.”
Now for the good news.
Pastor Michael went on to say “we are hosting a big Easter event for the residents at Las Brisas apartments instead, in the hopes of reaching out to people within a mile radius of New Hope.”
Here’s the best news, there are plenty of other churches and/or organizations that will be hosting Easter Egg Hunts or events this Easter.
Oakridge Church of Christ
A community Easter Egg Hunt will take place, Saturday, March 30th, from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm at Oakridge Church of Christ, 3250 Beltway South Abilene. Other activities will include sack races, sidewalk chalk and even pictures with the Easter Dog. Children will hunt for eggs according to their age. Each hunt lasts about 10 minutes. All other activities will last for the duration of the event. Please bring your own Easter basket.

Belmont Baptist Church
The Belmont Baptist Church congregation is going all out with all kinds of activities including the egg hunt, clowns and hot dogs for everyone. The Belmont Easter Egg Hunt and festivities begin at 5 pm on the Saturday before Easter at 2117 Palm Street in Abilene.
Good luck on the Easter Egg Hunting and remember to account for all your eggs. Make sure you don’t have one roll up underneath a car seat. This happened to me a couple of years ago. The smell will get to you at about day four, and by day 7 in the West Texas heat, you will consider buying a brand new car.
Happy Easter Y’all.
