Pit Bulls may be a felony to own in the state of Texas?  If  "Justin's Law" is passed that will be the reality although there's a slim chance of this actually happening.  There doesn't seem to be much support in the Legislature at this point. Justin Clinton was 10 years old when he was mauled to death by two pit bulls.  Justin's  parents sued the owner and won $7 million in damages.  They then petitioned the Texas legislature to have the dogs banned in the state.

§ 12.34. THIRD DEGREE FELONY PUNISHMENT.

(a) An individual adjudged guilty of a felony of the third degree shall be punished by imprisonment in the institutional division for any term of not more than 10 years or less than 2 years.

(b) In addition to imprisonment, an individual adjudged guilty of a felony of the third degree may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.

So this got me to thinking about what are the best and worst dogs to own, especially if you have kids.  What are your thoughts?  Also, what do you think about Pit Bulls being banned in Texas?
