Texas music artist Curtis Grimes stopped by KEAN today during my morning show to bring me his new single titled "Home To Me." Oklahoma native Blake Shelton has begun organizing a benefit fundraiser concert to help his fellow Oklahoma residents that were devastated by the tornado last Monday. The Voice coach and Male Vocalist of the Year promised he would call in favors from fellow country artists and friends in the business to make this happen. Blake is not alone either, he will be assisted by the network that hosts The Voice, NBC promises to televise the event nationally.

Several Abilene area businesses are teaming up to raise money and supplies for the people of Moore Oklahoma. Kandon Culberson Operations Supervisor for Con-Way Freight has been in constant contact with Moore city officials and volunteers. Culberson said "what the organizers in Moore told me they really need is money, water, bedding plus a host of other supplies to help them start the clean up and rebuild of their city. We were given a pretty big list." The donation drive begins at 7:00am this Saturday May, 25th at United Supermarket parking lot at 3301 South 14th Street South in the River Oaks Village.

For the past 24 years Abilene has been home to the Texas High School State Finals Rodeo, where the top high school rodeo athletes come to compete. Over 650 athletes come from all over the Lone Star State for three reasons, the right to be called "State Champions," a chance to go on to the National High School Finals Rodeo and scholarship money. The public is invited to come and support these young cowboys and cowgirls competing at the Taylor County Expo Center June 9th through the 15th.
