Good news came early this morning, Nipsey the three year old orange tabby was adopted. Abilene Animal Control Shelter officer Frost said "Nipsey went to his new home late Friday just before the shelter closed." Thank you to the anonymous family that adopted him, and thanks to everyone that shared the blog and helped spread the word, about a lovable overweight cat named Nipsey. It is  impossible to help animals without your support. Still, more critters need homes, see more shelter info and animals below.

Can you please help save Nipsey the cat?

Nipsey is an orange three year old Tabby cat that was turned in by it's owner. When animal control shelter employees asked the owner "why are you getting rid of your cat?" he simply said "I can't afford him" he then turned his back and walked away. I swear Nipsey is, the sweetest most lovable fat cat I've ever been around. He is so laid back, that I nicknamed him "Joe Cool." If not adopted soon, this sweet lovable cat could be put down as early as Monday morning.

When I first got there, Nipsey was kind of shy and elusive, he just wanted to hide at the back of the cage. I could tell he really missed his home and was deathly afraid of his current surroundings. I also noticed that his right ear was flawed, I found out that Nipsey had a melanoma removed when he was about a year old. He is all healthy now, here's how I know.

The previous owner brought in all of Nipsey's medical, health and shot records. The former owner never spared a dime on this cat. What ever Nipsey needed, Nipsey got! In fact I think Nipsey got too much food too because this KEAN Critter, weighs 21 pounds, has the most beautiful greenish eyes with a hint of yellow. He is fixed, micro-chipped and is current on all his vaccinations, which makes him very affordable.

Nipsey is so sad though. Please, help Nipsey get a permanent home.
