Conservative talk show host Michael Savage is seemingly so sure of Newt Gingrich’s inability to beat Barack Obama in the general election, that he’s willing to take him out of the race… by any financial means necessary.

Savage, who hosts the fourth most listened to radio show in the nation, offered Gingrich $1 million on Monday to leave the race. Savage explained his logic on his website, saying,

The Republican Presidential Field has come down to two candidates who have a real chance of getting the nomination: Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. While it’s true that Romney is not a strong a conservative as many would like him to be, the most pressing issue before America today is defeating Barack Obama. And that is something Newt Gingrich cannot do.

Savage previously criticized Gingrich for his infidelities, his ties to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, his support of amnesty for illegal aliens and his record as Speaker of the House during the ’90s.

Savage’s offer only stands for 72 hours, so Gingrich would have until Thursday to accept it.
