We sure do love our British TV, from the most outrageous extremes of 'Doctor Who' to the quiet scandal of 'Downton Abbey,' but with recent reminders of the long wait for show's like 'Sherlock,' its hard for American audiences not to bemoan the shortage of content. Well, no longer! NBC is set to receive it's very own 'Downton Abbey'-style period drama, courtesy of actual series creator Julian Fellowes! Are you ready for the scowl-ey 19th century tension of 'The Gilded Age'?

No longer need American 'Downton Abbey' fans worry about the long wait in between seasons, as NBC is set to provide its own period drama 'The Gilded Age' from 'Downton' creator Julian Fellowes himself! Variety first broke the news of the series, which will "examine those who made their fortunes in late 19th century New York." Let the scowling commence!

"This was a vivid time, with dizzying, brilliant ascents and calamitous falls, of record-breaking ostentation and savage rivalry; a time when money was king," said Fellowes of the effort. "Having been thoroughly impressed by Julian's wit, eloquence, vast historical knowledge and collaborative nature in my past development experience with him, I'm thrilled to be continuing our relationship at Universal Television," Universal TV head Bela Bajaria contributes.

Fellowes will continue his work on 'Downton Abbey' as well, recently announced for a fourth season atop the third to premiere on PBS in January. Will you take an interest in 'The Gilded Age'?
