If you're wondering why a monotone man in a classroom keeps spouting the name "Bueller" in succession despite the man's clear absence, we've finally got an answer: he's busy on the set of 'Modern Family' season 4! That's right, Ferris Bueller himself, Matthew Broderick will ditch his other responsibilities to pop by the series for an upcoming episode, but as whom? Will his star turn, numbering among the many 'Modern Family' has brought to light be the best yet?

Keep your convertibles locked up, because Matthew Broderick will take a guest turn on the upcoming fourth season of ABC's familial Emmy-dominating mega-hit 'Modern Family'! Thanks to TVLine, we've learned that the one-time 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and current Broadway star will appear at an unkown point in the coming season, portraying a neurotic new friend of Phil Dunphy's.

Amidst his Broadway work (currently 'Nice Work If You Can Get It'), Broderick maintains an odd schedule of TV appearances, guesting in everything from '30 Rock' to 'Louie,' and even the recent Ferris Bueller-themed Honda ads.

Apart from Broderick, 'Modern Family' season 4 will bring back Shelley Long as Jay's ex-wife Dede, while Mitchell and Cam will have their own headaches to deal with, as ‘Reno 911!’ and ‘Bridesmaids’ star Wendi McLendon-Covey will appear beginning with the season’s third episode, portraying one-half of a lesbian couple whose son gets into a fight with Lily on the girl’s day of kindergarten. McLendon-Covey’s partner will be played by former ‘SNL' star Michaela Watkins.
