Update:

David Wilson died of an apparent suicide. The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the details and revealed that Wilson's death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mindy McCready has lost her soul mate, life partner and father to her son Zayne. He was 34. Wilson was found dead on Sunday morning, January 13th.

In the mid-nineties McCready was an up and coming singer in Nashville. She had a high profile relationship with actor, Dean Cain (TV's Superman). They became engaged and within a year the relationship was over. She then dated NHL player Drake Berehowsky. Then it seems her world fell apart.

She had musical success with songs such as "Ten Thousand Angels", "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now" and "Guys Do It All The Time". Now she's famous for being a hot mess on reality shows such as Celebrity Rehab with Dr.Drew.

In May of 2005 McCready was involved with Billy McKnight, with whom she had her first son, Zander. McKnight was arrested and charged with attempted murder of McCready after beating and choking her. McCready fled with her son to the home of David Wilson, her record producer.

Wilson became the father of McCready's second child Zayne, who is now 9 months old. McCready described Wilson as a great father figure for her sons and her soul mate.

McCready said in a statement: "David was my soulmate; he was a caregiver and guiding hand to our sons Zander and Zayne." (Zander however, is McKnights son)

Wilson died at home in Heber Springs, Arkansas of undisclosed causes. No information has been released as to the cause of death. No arrangements have been made at this time according to McCready's camp.
