It's no secret that Mindy McCready's life has been troubled for some time. Now, according to reports, McCready has been committed to a treatment facility, has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, and her kids have been placed in protective care by Child Services in Arkansas.

This news comes just weeks after the death of David Wilson, McCready's boyfriend, which was initially reported to be a suicide. However, days later it became known that McCready could be under investigation for her possibly playing a role in Wilson's death. It should be understood that Mindy has not been named a suspect, and police have not yet determined the official cause of death. McCready has tearfully denied any involvement in Wilson's death.

What makes this whole saga even more sad is that there are kids involved. McCready has an infant son, Zayne, with Wilson, and had only recently gained custody of her six year old son, Zander, before Wilson's death. McCready's ex-husband, Billy McKnight, recently filed to have custody of Zander returned to him. E! News reports that both children are currently in the custody of the Arkansas Department of Human Services. This is the result of a judge ordering McCready to be committed to a treatment facility for alcohol abuse and a psychological evaluation.

According to EOnline.com, a source said:

"Family members sought to have Mindy committed to a mental health facility, and there was an emergency hearing today. They just got out of court a little while ago and the judge committed her for up to 21 days."

Another source adds that McCready has admitted to drinking to cope with the tragic loss of Wilson, but continues to deny any involvement in his January 13th death.
