Mike Ryan has enjoyed much success as a Texas country artist, and his latest single, "New Hometown," is poised to draw new fans with its relatable lyrics and Ryan's smooth-as-whiskey vocals.

"New Hometown" is the first track off Ryan's forthcoming album. It was co-written by Ryan, Chris DuBois and Brent Anderson. A song that has a man lamenting of needing to move away from his roots after a bad breakup, on "New Hometown," Ryan's emotive vocals immediately draw the listener in.

"I gotta get a new hometown / one that doesn't bring me down / somewhere where I won't see you every time I turn around," he sings.

Despite his long history in a town that is four generations deep, the San Antonio native finds himself heartbroken by a girl who moved there from Tennessee. The town that he thought he'd never leave he now can't stand to live in, and he finds himself dreaming about Boston, Colorado, Oklahoma and New Orleans — pretty much as far as he can get from his ex.

"I used to think I'd never leave but that was when you still loved me / But you broke my heart and drug it around my stompin' grounds / So now I need a new hometown," he reasons.

Currently a writer with Sea Gayle Music Publishing and named 2015's New Male Vocalist of the Year at the Texas Regional Radio Awards, "New Hometown" showcases the talents of Ryan as both a songwriter and vocalist alongside soaring guitar features and a catchy beat.

Did You Know?: Mike Ryan garnered three No. 1 hits on the Texas Music Chart off his 2014 album, Bad Reputation.

"I’ve been thinkin' a lot about Boston / I like the band and the weather ain't hot / Then again there's Colorado / They've got mountains and they legalized pot / Somewhere out in Oklahoma / Yeah I could get lost out there / Palm Springs or New Orleans / Hell I don't care"

"I gotta get a new hometown / One that doesn't bring me down / Somewhere I won't see you / Every time I turn around / I used to think I'd never leave / But that was when you still loved me / But you broke my heart and drug it around / My stompin' grounds / So now I need a new hometown"

"My great granddaddy Charlie / Moved here in '24 / And made it through the Great Depression / And opened up a hardware store / My roots run down these streets / Four generations deep / But thanks to a blue eyed girl / That moved here from Tennessee"

"I gotta get a new hometown / One that doesn't bring me down / Somewhere I won't see you / Every time I turn around / I used to think I'd never leave / But that was when you still loved me / But you broke my heart and drug it around / My stompin' grounds / So now I need a new hometown"
