Lawdy, lawd, meet the men of Little Big Town and Trombone Shawty! Okay, it's Trombone Shorty, but after his introduction to start the country group's ACM Awards performance of "Stay All Night," he earned a new moniker.

Little Big Town's performance was the best of the first half of the 2016 ACM Awards. If anyone was sitting, it was because they were in the bathroom. Even the most reserved of country singers (Eric Church, for example) was seen shifting his hips and swinging his arms as the group delivered a soulful, powerful highlight for the night.

The women of Little Big Town had been the stars during recent singles, with Karen Fairchild becoming the featured singer in hits like "Girl Crush" and "Pontoon." Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet showed they can keep up just fine, thank you. Their big, blues-soaked voices filled Las Vegas, only taking a breath when Trombone Shawty sucked in a mouthful of air to prove brass can kick ... butt.

"Stay All Night" is from LBT's Pain Killer album, released in 2014. It's not clear that song is a single, but after the response it almost be foolish to play it once and move on. This isn't Trombone Shorty's first dip in country music. The instrumentalist also collaborated with Zac Brown Band for a song called Overnight on their Uncaged album.
