Little Big Town returned to the Ryman Auditorium on Friday and Saturday night (July 28 and 29), as part of their 2017 residency at the venue, and on Saturday night, they brought Miranda Lambert with them. Readers can press play above to watch LBT and Lambert collaborate on a cover of the Dixie Chicks hit "Goodbye Earl."

Lambert took lead vocals on the "Goodbye Earl" cover as Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimmy Westbrook added harmonies. LBT's influence on the song is most noticeable during the "na na na"s during the song's choruses.

“Goodbye Earl,” written by Dennis Linde, was recorded by the Dixie Chicks for their fifth studio album, Fly, and released as its third single in February of 2000, after receiving unsolicited airplay in late 1999. The tune hit No. 13 on the Billboard country charts and has been certified gold — success that’s, in part, due to its star-studded video, which features Dennis Franz, Jane Krakowski and Michael DeLuise.

Little Big Town began their 2017 Ryman Auditorium residency, Little Big Town at the Mother Church, in February; they also performed at the venue in May and have dates scheduled for September and November. Lambert is not on tour herself this summer, though she does have a few tour dates on her calendar in early August. In mid-August, she will head to Europe for some concerts, and she’ll be performing Alaska and Canada in late September and early October.
