Country artists are known for their ability to churn out ridiculously catchy tunes. That’s why when ABC needed a theme song for their new program ‘Good Afternoon America,’ they turned to Little Big Town — and boy did the group deliver.

Not only did LBT lend their vocal chops to the tune, but they also put their penmanship to work on the ditty that will be the new theme song and promo campaign for the show, which launches July 9.

Their new song, ‘Good Afternoon,’ was co-written by the group’s Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, Phillip Sweet and Karen Fairchild, along with the Warren Brothers — Brett and Brad Warren. The song was recorded in Nashville last week and was produced by the group’s producer, Jay Joyce, who is also known for his work with Eric Church and rock band the Wallflowers.

“Sometimes you get unexpected opportunities as an artist,” says Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild. “We loved getting the chance to write and record a song for such a cool show.”

Fans can catch Little Big Town performing ‘Good Afternoon,’ as well as their current hit single ‘Pontoon,’ live on ‘Good Afternoon America’ on August 2. In the meantime, viewers can hear ‘Good Afternoon’ when the new show makes its official ABC network premiere on Monday (July 9) at 2PM ET.
