The legendary Country Music Hall of Fame group, The Oak Ridge Boys, are coming to the Abilene Civic Center, Sunday July 22nd. The Oak Ridge Boys of late, have recently picked up several awards in the 'Gospel' and ' Christian' music arenas. This show will highlight their music, which spans several decades and almost all music genres.

The Oak Ridge Boys tell us their sound and harmonies feels more like that of a true Southern Gospel quartet. The Oak Ridge boys just picked up their newest trophy to add to their mantle, from the Southern Gospel Music Association (SGMA) it's the "Impact Award".

At the fist word of the news, lead singer Duane Allen said, "It is a huge honor for The Oak Ridge Boys to be presented with the James D. Vaughan Impact Award. Southern style gospel music is the foundation of harmony which is the sound of The Oak Ridge Boys. We all grew up loving the great gospel quartets and gospel music. We are very humbled to have been chosen to receive this award and look forward to its presentation at Dollywood October 3rd". Duane Allen, William Golden, Richard Sturban and Joe Bonsall will be appearing in person to accept this award.
