Lee Brice is hard at work on his upcoming album, and he took the time to talk to Taste of Country during the recent ACM Awards about a particular song on the record that will make his wife swoon. The tune is called “11 Roses,” and he says it recalls a special season in their relationship.

“It’s a song about our engagement, kind of the story of it,” he explains. “It’s like, ‘you’re a bouquet of heaven and I’m just 11 roses.'"

The artist says he’s gotten a few of the instruments tracked already for the album, but he’s still got to lay down his vocals and guitar parts. The record may also include a collaboration with label mate and buddy Jerrod Niemann called “Little More Love."

“It’s got a great message, tempo rockin’ — just awesome,” Brice says of the potential single.

Brice is gearing up to perform as one of the headliners at WE Fest this summer, and he says he loves festivals for one main reason: the fans.

“With every festival you get the hardcore fans, people that are there for country music,” he explains. “A lot of times it’s multiple days, and they’re out there campin’ or they're out there tailgatin’. You know you’re getting the cream of the crop. Sometimes you can go to a place and play a show and depending on where you are, the crowd is a little more somber, a little more reserved, but at the festivals, they’re ready to rock."

Brice is wrapping up his Life Off My Years Tour this month with help from Maddie & Tae, having brought along Niemann and Clare Dunn for previous dates. While at the ACM Awards he performed at the Party for a Cause festival, which benefits the ACM’s charitable arm, Lifting Lives.

His new record will be a follow-up to his 2014 effort I Don’t Dance, which brought with it a No. 1 hit with the title track and two other Top 10 hits with “Drinking Class” and “That Don’t Sound Like You."
